Port
Lincoln Information.

Situated on the foot of Eyre Peninsula,
the harbour of Boston Bay is
breathtakingly beautiful.
No wonder Captain Matthew Flinders saw fit to name it after
Lincolnshire, and many of its surrounding islands and bays after
people and places near and dear to him.
The city of Port Lincoln has a population of around 14,000 people,
and affords that population with all the advantages of a city large
enough to have all the industries, shops, sport and interests, but
small enough to retain the friendliness of a small town.
For the the water lover, fishing, surfing, diving, yachting, and
boating flourish . Families spend their week ends camping in many
of the National Parks camping areas, and the children are able to
play on safe beaches and explore the nature of the parks.
The Industries of Port Lincoln are well supported by the Aquaculture
and mixed farming of Eyre Peninsula.
The Aquaculture Industry employs many people and pours money into
the support Industries, thus keeping Port Lincoln a growing and thriving place.

The tourist potential is enormous and local heritage museums eg. Koppio
blacksmith, and Howard's rose garden ,
Tod Reservoir Pumping station (Barbecue area and tennis courts)
beach tours, food and winery tastings,
trips to see the tuna feeding,
the Sea-horse farm, boat, yacht, canoe and kayak hire,
and trips
to Boston Island are just a few of the many things to see and do here.
Families
can spend a pleasant day at Glen Forrest farm, seeing many animals, the
mini zoo, mini golf, barbecue areas etc.

Just walking along the Marina berths looking at the prawn, tuna,
cray and pilchard boats , yachts, cruisers and dad's fishing boat, is interesting and fun.
There
is plenty of accommodation for visitors in the town and at the marina.
