NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and    Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC is celebrated not only in  Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life. The week is a great opportunity to participate in a range of activities and to support your local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. This week at the Junior Primary School children enjoyed a variety of activities including a cook out.

What a Wonderful Term

What a wonderful term we have had of learning, discovering and growing   together at the JP. Having read everyone’s report cards I feel very proud of the progress each child has made and recognise the wonderful effort all of our students put into their school days. This week has been full of visitors and visiting which is always both educational and exciting. Visitors from China came into our school on Monday. 11 students and 4 teachers are in Port   Lincoln for 8 days to see what education is like for our students. Definitely  different to classroom spaces and anything less than 50 students always seems amazing to them. NAIDOC week has been a great opportunity for these visitors to experience our Aboriginal culture also and try kangaroo tail at the Wombat Pit. Thank you to our Aboriginal community for putting on this experience for our children. Our children had a great time. Thank you also to the support of our school community in regard to volunteer hours, supporting at assemblies etc. We really appreciate your  involvement and the positive impact this has on our students.
